Cold makes me think of….PIZZA!

I tend to try recipies out on my friends. I’ve found that not only do I get rid of the massive amout of food I tend make when I”m having a baking “episode” (no joke), I also get honest opinions about the items I make. Then I tend to make those items a few times. This pizza recipie has become a favorite of my friends, and it’s a lot of fun to make.

Start with the Crust:

1 ¼ cp warm water

1 pkg active dry yeast

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

3 ½ cp flour

2 tsp cornmeal

1.        Put ¼ cp warm water in bowl. Sprinkle yeast. Stir in sugar, let stand for 5 mins.

2.        Add remaining water, oil and salt. Stir in flour until dough pulls away from the bowl.

3.        Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Kneed until smooth. Put dough in greased bowl and cover. Let rise until double.

4.        Divide dough in half, roll to fit 2 12 in pizza pans. Put dough on greased and corn mealed pans and bake for 10 mins in 450 oven.

While the Crust is rising (or baking) make the sauce:

1 clove garlic
1 tsp salt
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
½ tsp sugar
1/8 tsp pepper
½ tsp oregano
1 tbsp olive oil
red pepper

Mix all together and spread on cooked pizza crust.

Topping Favorites:

Green and Yellow Peppers
Mozzerlla Cheese

  1. Chop up the peppers and onions
  2. Put them in a skillet with some olive oil and sugar and put the heat on medium to medium high. Try not to stir them very much so they carmalize
  3. Once the onions and peppers are finished, put on prepared crust a long with pepperoni and cover the whole thing with cheese.
  4. Pop the pizza into a 450 degree oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Note: The pizza sauce also goes wonderful with yesterday’s pretzal recipie.
