Adventures in Frying

Along with the chocolate cheesecake, we made corn dogs as well. It was so much fun, I had to take a picture.

Corn Dogs!

 Corn Dogs
(A mixture of Alton Brown and me!)

Oil for frying
1 cp cornmeal
2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cp buttermilk
Cornstarch for Dredging
Hot dogs

  1. Combine all dry ingreidents and mix in wet.
  2. Stick skwers into hot dogs and start heating the oil to about 300 degrees
  3. Fill a drinking cup with corn meal mixture. Dip the dogs in corn starch then the corn meal.
  4. Put in hot oil right away and fry for about 5 minutes or until outside is golden brown.
  5. Wait until cool, then ejoy!
