The joy of the brownie loaf

I’ve been on a girly kick lately, watching girly movies, but also making girly desserts. Today’s girly dessert is the brownie loaf. Started from a small accident while baking normal brownies, the brownie loaf is a favorite of my friends.

Brownie Loaf
(adapted from

3/4 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 stick  butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

  1. Cream together sugar and butter
  2. Add all other ingredients and mix until smooth.
  3. Pour into prepared (greased) bread pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, the center will not be cooked.
  4. Cover with chocolate frosting or chocolate chips right after removing from the oven.
