A Chill Falls Over the City

The sun starts hiding behind clouds or in the southern hemisphere. Trees go from having bright green leaves to a rainbow of colors. The wind seems to get stronger and everyone adds another layer to their cloths if and when they step outside.  Children and adults returning home can think of one thing: how they want something warm.

As I’ve said a hundred times before, fall is great for food. Some of my favorite warm food items are really drinks. Even though I love (and still live on) coffee, once the weather turns cold I get cravings for hot cocoa, and hot spiced apple cider. Maybe its because cocoa and cider don’t dehydrate me as much as coffee does, or maybe its because I get that much caffiene that I just don’t want it any more than a pot a day. Either way, I still end up craving cocoa and cider every day.

Coming up soon is one of my favorite food holidays ever, Thanksgiving. Honestly, the only reason why I’m even thinking of it is because a friend announced today that it is Canadian Thanksgiving. I almost baked a pumpkin pie, no joke. Pievember is upon us, are you ready?
